The Wonder That Is A Sunset

This is a bit of a belated article but the facts within remain true. A sunset has been called many things, the muse of countless poets and a sailors tool for predicting the weather. Although everyone will always say that it is a pretty sunset if told look up, but few people take full advantage of these wonders. It is universally accepted that sunsets are wonderful and some take the time to stop each day and appreciate them. This a good practice just to give yourself a daily pick-me-up, but even better is the rare moment of catching one by chance. These two instances illustrate this theory perfectly; I was at the beach for my brothers birthday so at the end of the day every one stops to watch the sunset, this happens every time I go to the beach but by the end of the day you are expecting it and have built it up to the point where it is beautiful but somewhat diminished by your expectations. My second example is still my favorite sunset that I have ever experienced. One night as soccer practice ran late, as it always did, I happened to look up and there it was. Now by the end of this practice everyone was tired, it was not before a game day so it was more tiring than usual (we were worked harder). Everyone’s head was hanging from exhaustion but for a split second I looked up and there it was, all shades of pink and orange with the last rays of light bursting through the cold grey clouds. Maybe it was the timing or perhaps I was too tired to tell the difference but either way it was beautiful, an overused word, but the only one in my miniscule mind that can describe such a sunset without sounding corny or gaudy. In closing how can any man see a sunset and not see evidence of a creator.
